Welcome to South Miami Lutheran Church!

The stained glass window in the sanctuary of South Miami Lutheran depicting Jesus with outstretched arms is an expression of the hospitality offered to all.  No matter where you are in your faith journey, you are invited to join in community with others and explore what it means to be a beloved child of God.  South Miami Lutheran is a place to grow in love, grow in service, and grow in faith.

If the church can be of assistance in any way, feel free to call (305-665-2562) or email Mary in the office at mksmlchurch@bellsouth.net or email Pastor Katie at pastorkatiesmlutheran@gmail.com.

Remember: all are welcome at South Miami Lutheran Church.  See you Sunday!

God's peace~

  • Christmas Eve at South Miami Lutheran Church

Join in festive worship at South Miami Lutheran on Christmas Eve at 7:30pm!  Joyous song, candlelight ceremony, special Christmas visitor and more.  Come, and bring a friend!

  • Taking the Sermon Home

The readings on the second Sunday of Advent are Isaiah 11:1-10, Romans 15:4-13 and Matthew 3:1-12.

+What are some of the impediments to realizing the idyllic vision Isaiah sets forth in today's reading?

+The lesson from Romans speaks of welcome and living in harmony with others.  What are some of the ways the congregation might expand its spirit of "welcome?"

+Based on the gospel text, it seems baptism is not for the faint of heart!  What are the challenges posed to us through a call to repentance?

  • Time For Healing...A New Opportunity at South Miami Lutheran

We yearn for serenity--especially as a hectic holiday season approaches.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 16 is the next "A Time for Healing," service offered in the sanctuary of South Miami Lutheran. These meditation experiences are held every first and third Monday from 7 to 7:45pm.  There is silence, quiet music, and a chance to focus and center the spirit.

The theme on December 16 is finding contentment.
