Welcome to South Miami Lutheran Church!

This website contains information  about South Miami Lutheran-- its ministries, activities, and more -- as well as articles, pictures, and weekly Bible readings.

The beautiful stained glass window in the sanctuary depicting Jesus with outstretched arms is an expression of the hospitality South Miami Lutheran expresses to all.  No matter where you are in your faith journey, you are invited to join in community with others and explore what it means to be a beloved child of God.  South Miami Lutheran is a place to grow in love, grow in service and grow in faith.

If the church can be of assistance in any way, feel free to call (305-665-2562) or email Mary at the office at mksmlchurch@bellsouth.net

Remember, you are always welcome at South Miami Lutheran Church.

God's peace~

  • New Dade County Pines...Thank You, Bob Welsh!

Thanks to City Commissioner Bob Welsh, the church has Dade County pine trees on the property.  Bob spent hours at church, breaking through coral rock to plant the young trees.  We thank him for his dedication and hard work!  If other groups are interested in obtaining trees, Bob asks that you contact him.  He'll help groups that need assistance with planting.  Together, we can enhance the beauty of our county and restore native plants.

  • Taking the Sermon Home

The readings are 2 Kings 5:1-3, 7-15c and Luke 17:11-19.

    • Naaman, the army commander from Aram in our First Reading, was cleansed in the Jordan River and made clean.  What other transformations did he undergo from the healing?
    • Just as Naaman was a foreigner, so too, was the leper in Luke 17 that took time to thank Jesus.  What does this reveal about the nature of God?
    • What does it mean to you, to experience "healing" from God?  How does baptism tie into stories of cleansing and healing?

There will be silence, quiet music, and a chance to focus and center the spirit.
